Here are some of my most recent completed projects. A lot of them are for my sister, who's baby shower is only about 3 weeks away, the rest are now or will shortly be up for sale on my new Etsy site. You can go there at www.stargazingirlycrafts.etsy.com !
This is the same cabled scarf pattern as i've done before, about 18 inches in. If I wasn't working so hard on the baby afghan this would be done a lot faster, but this scarf isn't any thing I need soon, so its okay!
this one is an afghan for my sisters baby, 17 of 196 needed squares shown, they obviously are stitched together here, just laid out to show the start of the pattern, Ill post more pictures as I get the squares done. I only have about 7 weeks until the baby shower, so this is going to be a pretty quick project!
Here is my latest baby set, its done in Adam's favorite color and stitch. The sweater still needs buttons, but other than that its done. Its a newborn size, 0-3 months, so It won't fit a baby for very long, but while it does it sure will be cute!
Here is my latest scarf, I'm calling it waves of jewels. The yarn is jewel tone, and the pattern is a wave scarf. Its 5 ft long with the fringe, so not really long, but its long enough! here is my latest baby hat and bootie set, they are pale green with cream trim and cream colored ribbon ties
Next is a baby sweater done in Caron simply soft, I'll post pictures when its done
Well it seems i'm getting to the point that when I got back to try and make a pattern I've made in the past I can't remember the details of how I did it, So I think I will try to make more detailed posts here.
Below are the hat and booties I made to match the cream colored sweater.
The booties are done on size 8 needles, CO28, K 10 rows garter, Decrease next and every other row for the next three rows by K2TOG twice for the center stitches, alternate rows are K, for the eyelet row: K1, YO K2TOG*, repeat across then do the cuff in a K1, P1 ribbing until its about 2 inches The Hat is the mock cable pattern but stopped an inch shorter for a smaller size head.
Here is my latest knit sweater creation! Its the same idea as the typical ones, but done in a K2TOG YO repeat. Unfortunately this stitch is a little wider than expected so the sweater seems to me to be a bit wide, but I still think its quite cute, and it works up in about half the time as the other ones. I think with a little more tweaking this pattern will be a keeper!
Here is my second of the "Ye Good Ole Cabled Scarf" pattern. This one I made for the grad student I work for, Yun. She really loved it!Up next is another baby blanket, Crocheted, and probably in the ripple form. Also a few more baby sets! I'll post the pictures as I get them made, things should come faster now, since I've finished my BS in biochemistry, and don't have much on my plate for the next few months!
First, here are two squares sent to be part of a comfort-ghan for a Virginia Tech victims friend. And once I had my orange yarn out, I couldn't help but make a baby pumpkin outfit for my sisters baby, She's due in the middle of October! The hat is based on a pattern I found online, and the sweater is my own creation, it needs a little tweaking, but its so cute!
Heres my latest project! I finally got those squares put together, it actually looks pretty nice overall! it does lay flat, but I didn't have place good to lay it, so I held it up and Adam took the picture! Heres the total green baby set, same hat and sweater seen below, but I finally got around to adding the mittens and booties, the sweater still needs buttons, and the booties and mittens need their ribbon, but you get the idea here. I think they are really cute! I'm still slowing working on that white sweater, its just very very slow going.... I'm sure I'll finish it eventually!
I finished the blue cabled scarf!! its about 4 ft long, which is long enough for a kids scarf! made me happy to reach that length with the ball of yarn I had, it would have been sad to have to frog it! Heres the picture! When I was putting away the finished blue I found the black scarf I made for my brother, nbot the best picture but there isn't much detail to be seen, its Caron SS paired with black fun fur, so its super soft! And here is a picture of a bunch more newborn/ preemie hats I made And a pair of cute little booties I've also started putting those squares together, at the suggestion of a bunch of ladies at the 'ville i'm using the same cream color to edge and join them as in the center of the squares, I'll post a picture when they are all joined!
I finished the Blue and Yellow!!! I think it came out really well! Here is my newest project and current WIP, I'm learning how to cable. well I guess at this point i've learned how to do it, and i'm just getting better and quicker at doing it. Here is a closeup of the cable and the general pattern! Heres another, better picture of my cloths , they are blocked now and look much better!
Tonights Project!!! I wanted to try making something with cotton, so these are what I made!
This one needs to be blocked, but its got decent striping through it! This one is done in DC and then two rounds of SC edging, and its my favorite of the three! I like the way this one feels, but the colors are a bit too random for my taste
